122 countries voted on July 7, 2017 to adopt the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW, or “Nuclear Ban Treaty”). As of April, 2024, 97 Presidents, Prime Ministers or other country officials have signed the TPNW and of these, 70 national parliaments or congresses have voted to ratify the TPNW. The citizens, elected representatives and in some cases the Prime Ministers of still more countries have indicated their desire or intention to join this Treaty. Countries below in green are signatories and countries in blue are “states parties” to the treaty, who have also ratified it.
